Organised by the school’s head of music, Rachel Bingham, the concert had something to suit all tastes, including performances from the junior and senior choirs; brass band; string orchestra; woodwind ensemble; guitar group; and more, and the entertainment extravaganza concluded with a powerful and emotional performance of ‘Come From Away’ – a musical which chronicles the real-life experiences of the people of Gander, Newfoundland, and the almost 7000 airline passengers who were forced to land there when US air space was closed on September 11, 2001.

A delighted Mrs Bingham described the concert as ‘superb’. “Our concerts are over, and what amazing performances from our pupils and staff,” she said. “It has taken us a few days to process it all!
“A big well done to team music.”
Students close the spring concert with numbers from the musical, ‘Come From Away’, sharing the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada in the wake of 9/11.
