OFFICIALS of a local football club which provides coaching for around 200 kids have been left outraged and sickened by damage caused to club property by mindless vandals.
Coaches arrived at Omagh Leisure Complex on Tuesday evening in preparation for one of the many weekly training sessions run by the youth section of Mountjoy Football Club only to discover that storage bunkers used to keep their equipment had been badly damaged.
The bunkers are kept on site to store equipment that is used for mini soccer and youth training sessions.

Club officials have reported the incident to the management of the leisure facility.
Mountjoy United Football Club’s youth section is considered one of the best cross-community soccer set ups in the district and coach Richard Donnell said people involved with the club are disgusted by the wanton destruction.
“When the vandalism was discovered by our coaches they were absolutely disgusted by the scene, it’s so hard to put into words how annoyed everyone is,” he said.
“The leisure centre has been brilliant letting us store our equipment on site and we really have established a great training base there for the kids and then something like this happens.
“Everyone works so hard within the club to provide better opportunities for local children and it’s sickening when mindless vandals come along and destroy club property in this manner.”
The ‘Herald contacted Fermanagh and Omagh District Council yesterday (Wednesday) about the incident but at the time of going to press no response had been issued.
